In a season marked by grit, growth, and groundbreaking milestones, Our clients Shadia Nankya and Phionah Nabulime have been crowned champions of the 2024–2025 Egyptian Premier League, lifting the title with Egyptian powerhouse FC Masar (Right to Dream). The duo’s success is not only a personal triumph, but a landmark moment for Ugandan and African women’s football.

Shadia Nankya, widely respected for her commanding presence in defense, was instrumental in FC Masar’s formidable campaign.
Prior to her mid season transfer to the Washington Spirit FC in the U.S. National Women’s Soccer League, she played a crucial role in anchoring the backline. Her performances didn’t just contribute to domestic success they echoed across the continent.

At the CAF Women’s Champions League, she helped secure a bronze medal for her club and earned a coveted place in the Best XI of the tournament sharing that honor with fellow Ugandan standout Aisha Nantongo, now plying her trade in China super league with Changchun WFC Despite shadia’s transfer to National Women’s Soccer League (USA) mid season, Nankya had already met the criteria for a league winner’s medal, having featured prominently in key fixtures. Her blend of discipline, timing, and football intelligence became a blueprint for emerging defenders on the continent.

Meanwhile, Phionah Nabulime, at just 20 years old, has emerged as one of Uganda’s brightest prospects.

A product of the Divine Soccer Academy, where she trained from the tender age of nine to 18 when she joined Kawempe Muslim ladies Football Club, Phionah’s journey reflects a rare fusion of academic excellence and athletic brilliance.

She first made waves captaining Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC to the Ugandan Premier League title, before embarking on her international journey with FC Masar.

In Egypt, she was thrust into a pivotal midfield role and she thrived. Her vision, composure, and relentless work ethic transformed FC Masar’s midfield dynamics, helping the club secure back to back league titles. Now a regular with the senior Crested Cranes and former captain of the Uganda U20 national team, Phionah is proving that age is just a number when matched with leadership and resilience.

Indeed, their achievements are reverberating far beyond Cairo or Kampala.
For young girls across Uganda and the entire African continent Shadia and Phionah have become living proof that dreams, when paired with determination and discipline, can lead to global glory.

Their story isn’t just one of success. It’s a movement in motion an invitation for the next generation to rise.
