Our client Hadijah Nandago, a professional footballer currently playing for Sethu FC in India, has made a heartfelt return to her roots, giving back to Arrows Soccer Academy in Matugga, the place where her football journey began.

A former player for Kawepwe Muslim Ladies Football Club, Nandago spent seven years competing in the Ugandan Premier League before rising to the national stage. She proudly represented Uganda at the U17 and U20 levels and is now a key player on the senior Uganda Women’s National Team—the Crested Cranes.

While making strides abroad in her professional career, Nandago has never forgotten where it all started. She recently donated footballs and equipment to Arrows Soccer Academy, emphasizing the critical need for basic training tools in grassroots football development.

“I believe the balls will add value to the academy,” Nandago said. “In our country today, many young players lack basic equipment to train. This is a small way for me to say thank you.”
Her gesture is especially personal. She credits her early development and determination to Coach Senoga Benard, founder of the academy, who mentored her from childhood.

“There’s no way I can fully repay the efforts of Coach Senoga Benard. He never gave up on me and was one of the first people who truly believed in my talent. He supported and encouraged me every step of the way,” she said.
For Nandago, this act of giving is more than a donation—it’s an investment in future stars.

“The baby talents coming up at the academy could be the future of Uganda’s football. After this small success, I felt it was my duty to go back, thank the academy, and contribute what I could.”
Her story is not just one of talent and perseverance but also of gratitude, humility, and a commitment to lifting others as she climbs.
