Marion Serenge is a young Kenyan women’s footballer who has quickly risen to prominence as one of the most exciting talents in her age group.
She’s best known for her role as a key player for the Kenya Under-17 women’s national team (the Junior Starlets), helping the team make history by qualifying for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic — the first time any Kenyan national football team has reached a World Cup finals at any level. It’s at the World Cup that she recorded the fasted fifth speeds of 30.4 KM/H at the whole tournament – a record breaking first for Kenya and Africa at the tournament.
Before her international breakthrough, she was Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the Safaricom Chapa Dimba regional youth football competition, For her standout contributions in June 2024, she was named Sports Personality of the Month by Kenyan sports journalists.
